Lost in the Desert

Well guys Its been too long since the last post so here I am with another one. I’m busy watching the BBC version of Being Human even as I type the first part of this.

I wish I had a good update on the book 4 but as of right now its still in editing limbo. On the good news front, sounds like my brother’s almost done on the whole final edit of Admiral Who front.

Right now I’m up to 75k on the fantasy story I’ve been writing on, Falon Half Blood. Its definitely going slower than I’d hoped but despite all that its showing progress.

After I finish with the fantasy story I’m going to go back to working on the Admiral again. The Revenge has been a long time coming but it is definitely a dish best served cold. And its very cold in space.

Book four is going through the editing grinder right now. Thinking a week to release date on this end.

@Emil – Going through your list of nits, I saw that you didn’t know what the following meant: “Papa Spalding’ll make men out of you, yet.”

The “‘ll” is a contraction which joins ‘will’ to he preceding word. So “Spalding’ll” means “Spalding will.” It’s very poor English, which is why you might not be familiar with it. But sailors aren’t generally known for their grammatical proficiency, and Spalding is most definitely a lifelong sailor.

Bummer dude! Still even though this might not be the most positive progress report when all said and done I don’t think there’s a whole lot to complain about.

Fantasy’s not really my thing at the moment (should have caught me a few years ago)I’m mostly into either straight sci/fi or urban fantasy now-a-days but since I’ve got your Spineward Sectors series standing as recommendation I might just break down and get Falon Half Blood when it comes out.

I admit it, I never known a sailor.

Same here Paul, its all scifi/apocalyptic for me now.
Though its tough finding good books, my standards when reading a book have sky-rocked after reading the Admiral Who series,
can’t go back to improper grammar, childish tantrums etc.
Note: I seriously love that the ships are not ‘automated’ and rather crewed by thousands, and at same time perfectly explained why: Al’s,
they can infect the ship if there’s to many computers controlling it, and then pretty much destroy it. (Turn weapons on allies ships, make reactors self-explode.. etc etc)
Also love that nothing is ‘instantly done’, the ship are NOT fully repaired between the battles, the damage is still there and must work around it. Of course, they got the almighty engineer Spalding (I’ll bet you 100 theoretical credits that there will be a mini-religion/engineering cult about him eventually)

Anyway, considering its you, the fantasy book your writing most likely wont be some shitty book for children, so when its out, I’ll check it out.

I am not that into fantasy either, tbh. I end up reading fantasy books whenever I am out of new sci-fi books to read.

Well it is my first foray into the whole Fantasy genre. I hope you guys will like it if you decide to try it.

After I do the whole fantasy novel thing, its off to finish a Spalding short story. Current plan (which is a bit of a disappointment) is to put out Trial. Finish Falon. Finish Spalding. Put out a Combined Spalding/Jason short pre-quel about a month after Trial comes out and in the meantime start and finish Revenge.

Its not quite as busy a schedule as it looks. But it does involve a few steps.

I hope you guys keep on enjoying the Admiral!
